The Kitties Florabelle and The Moosch, feline siblings, were born in November 1997, and came into Steffi's life shortly after.  They exhibit many traits of their breed, the Wakulla County Pestakitten – a breed that has yet to be recognized outside the North Florida show cat arena.  Characteristics include an above-average body size (Florabelle weighs in at 11 lbs. and The Moosch at 14.5 lbs.), excessive meowing especially at meal time or whenever an electric can opener is activated, compulsive thievery, getting high on catnip, Tiger Balm®, Vicks Vapo-Rub® and other cat narcotics, and an insatiable need to "make biscuits" on fine upholstery and bare human flesh.   Because of their multiple arrests for petty larceny in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia, they have recently taken to using several aliases - Baby Thing and Captain Puke, Miss Pinch and Prime Minister Mee Y'ow-wee, Princess Honey-Bee and Pasha Panda-Bear-Fatso-Cat  - to name a few.   When they're not too busy, they will sit by Steffi as she composes at the the piano - Florabelle pressing a cold wet nose insouciantly into the composer's elbow and The Moosch encircling her ankle with a mighty paw.   For those of you who keep up with the "celeb" scene, New Age songstress Merope purportedly was inspired to write her very popular, "My Cat Is Snoring," after sharing her bed (and one too many Absolut martinis) one night with The Moosch.  His attorney, Plato Orestes Baklavapoulos, Esquire, of Tallahassee, Florida, in a statement released in October 2005 said, "The allegation concerning Ms. Merope's wanton romp with my client has yet to be confirmed. What has been proven, however, is Mr. Moosch's role in inspiring Ms. Merope's highly successful inspirational composition, "My Cat is Snoring," which netted her millions in royalties, and her continued refusal to acknowledge and thereby compensate Mr. Moosch for his contribution."  The case is scheduled for a ruling by the Florida Supreme Court next December.   Stay tuned!
